I am currently getting ready and making new artwork for the upcoming Milwaukee Avenue Arts Festival, July 29th-31st. The show that I'm creating pieces for is entitled "Triptych", curated by Sarah Gardiner and Corryn Jackson. The concept for the show is that a group of 15 artists will each receive three separate sets of instructions by mail, and then every artist will interpret each set of instructions in his or her own different way. The show will culminate in approximately 45 pieces, each inspired by three simple sets of instructions. So far I have received two of the three instructions: "no. 1 create a visual timeline of your thoughts for a 24 hour period" and "create a piece that draws from both natural and man made materials"...
